Sophie met Kennon while attending college at Texas State University, and the two were immediately inseparable. "After spending the summer together, we knew we were going to be together forever," said Sophie.

With graduation on the horizon for the couple, Kennon decided to pop the question. His plan to surprise Sophie involved a stop at the capitol building, which neither of them had ever toured before. When they reached a gazebo on the grounds of the historical site, Kennon proposed to an overwhelmed Sophie. "I was completely caught off guard. It was perfect," she described.

Although Sophie worked as an event coordinator at The Terrace Club in Dripping Springs, the couple decided to explore several venue options before choosing a location. However, after a few tours, they ultimately chose The Terrace Club. The Terrace Club was perfect for what they wanted for their wedding: elegant and classy with a Texas Hill Country feel.

Sophie described the wedding as a "pink dream" with a formal style, lots of sparkle, and a Texas twist on things. "Kennon is a true man for letting me just go with it and make my dream a reality. He wanted me to have everything I'd ever dreamed of. I'm not sure if he knew how pink it would actually be, but he was really pleased with how everything turned out," she said.

A sunset over The Terrace Club's gorgeous hill country view provided the backdrop for the couple's intimate outdoor evening ceremony. Keeping with the main color of the day, pink décor surrounded the small group of guests and wedding party. Pink petals and crystal-accented pomanders lined the aisle and decorated the trellis under which the couple recited their vows. In lieu of traditional wedding music for the ceremony, Sophie and Kennon chose a few unexpected options including the theme from the movie "Forrest Gump" for both the prelude and processional.

The wedding party's attire had a few non-traditional touches as well. The bride's three attendants wore hot pink strapless dresses accessorized with sparkly silver pumps. Kennon and his groomsmen wore tan suits with Texas-worthy cowboy boots. Sophie's Amy Michelson gown was romantic with its flowing chiffon material and open back, but the unexpected part of her ensemble was her shoes. She wore a pair of hot pink, peep-toe pumps with crystal embellishments adorning the heel. "I'm obsessed with shoes, so they were probably my favorite part," described Sophie.

Once the ceremony concluded, family and friends moved inside to a reception with hors D'oeuvres and a buffet dinner. The bold color scheme continued with pink, white, and silver incorporated throughout the venue. Hot pink lighting was combined with candlelight to imbue the room with a fun yet romantic feel, and crystals hanging from the chandeliers added just the right amount of sparkle.

In the midst of the girly surroundings, Sophie and Kennon kept the Texas theme alive with country music provided by their DJ. They chose selections from Tim McGraw, Brad Paisley, and the Eli Young Band to keep the mood light and casual.

Much to the pleasure of everyone there, the newlyweds offered multiple goodies for guests to enjoy. Sophie described the main dessert as "one hot pink, fabulous cake" topped with hearts and embellished with crystals and a bow made of fondant. The groom's cake was a chocolate-lover's paradise with crushed Reese's Pieces on top. In addition to the cakes, guests were given favor bags containing chocolates and other to-go bags to fill up at the candy bar that was provided.

Sophie and Kennon enjoyed the company of their guests all evening before heading out in a stretch limousine as guests waved sparklers. An extended honeymoon is still in the works for the couple as they are currently transitioning to Novato, California. Kennon has started a position as project engineer for a construction company, and Sophie plans to apply her event-planning experience in the Napa Valley area. Work might have moved them to another state, but this couple still thinks of Texas as home.
